Topics of the Conference

The aim of the 2nd Dialogue on Social Market Economy is to bring together academic and non-academic specialists and to facilitate their knowledge and experience in the chances and risks for the “Social Market Economy” within international competition of economic systems. Therefore contributed papers should address one of the following topics:

• Theory of Institutional Competition

• International Competition of Economic Systems

• International Economic Order Policy

• Conception of Social Market Economy

• Performance Competition as Basis of a Social Market Economy

• Reform Processes in Welfare States

 

Conference Language and Programme

 The conference will be held in Zwickau on November 20^th/21^th, 2008. Further information – especially a detailed programme – will be provided at the end of October 2008 on the website.

Official conference languages are German and English.

 

Registration and Fees

Participants are pleased to pre-register until March 31^st, 2008, submitting the title and an English abstract of their paper.

Registration fee is € 50 for pre-registered participants (€ 100 for later registering participants). Participants will be invoiced by the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences of Zwickau after registration.   

For pre-registered participants a travel grant will be applied. Participants will be informed about success of the grant application presumably in September 2008.

 

Submission and Publication of Papers

Please submit papers in German or English language (preferably up to 15 pages) along with information on name(s) of author(s) and contact details to:

Papers should include an English summery up to one page. MS-Word-files by e-mail are preferred. Submission deadline is October 31^st, 2008.

Conference papers will be published online as “Ordnungspolitische Diskurse / Discourses in Social Market Economy” via “Ordnungspolitisches Portal” (Gate to Social Market Economy). An additional off-line publication is planned, too.

If you plan to attend without a paper, kindly let us know, too.
